I am a journalist, editor and visual storyteller with over 20 years of experience spanning magazines, newsrooms, alt-weeklies, brand creative studios, documentary film and various digital media outlets.
I’ve written stories for publications like Fast Company, Thrillist, NPR, Atlas Obscura, Vice, Billy Penn, Philadelphia Weekly, MusicTech, VentureBeat and Billboard. I have also worked with reputable brands like Sonos, Asana, Discord, Fracture and Aura Frames on editorial content strategy and production.
As a journalist, I’ve covered a lot of stuff. Historically, I’ve been drawn to topics like digital culture, artificial intelligence, mental health, psychedelics, design, travel, history and music. If there’s a weird, somewhat dark or under-reported side to the story, I’ll do my best to sniff it out.
I’m also a life-long media nerd with a knack for launching and running new publications.
It started in high school, when I co-founded an alternative student newspaper – and then went on to serve as editor-in-chief of the official one.
Years later, I helped Fast Company launch and edit the experimental publishing vertical Co.Labs before becoming a full-time staff writer. While at Fast Company, I covered the intersection of music and innovation in depth, going behind the scenes in the music streaming wars, reporting on early advances in music-making A.I. and interviewing artists like Neil Young, RZA, Sheryl Crow and Gary Numan about the ever-evolving music industry and the future of creativity – among miscellaneous other things.
